We offers a wide variety of services ranging from HD video production and post production to digital photography and event support. We have developed thousands of creative, cost effective projects for a national and international clientele. We also work with individuals in the local community on personal projects or events. OUR STORY

Active Communications was founded by Dan Hnatio. Dan started his career in academia working as the Director of television services for Boston University Schools of Medicine and Nursing, and later as a faculty member at Framingham State College where he helped develop the Television Production and Media Communication program.

Since Dan founded Active Communications in 1984, we have worked on a large variety of projects for a national and international clientele mostly focusing on Broadcast, Corporate Communications, and Documentary/Film projects.

FOUNDER / EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

DANIEL HNATIO

The driving force behind Active Communications is Dan Hnatio. Dan has over 30 years of experience in the communications industry, has won a variety of awards in television, media and film, and has achieved a reputation for excellence within the field. He has developed a number of contacts and relationships within the industry, particularly within the New England region.

In addition to running Active Communications, Dan teaches courses at Emerson College and Framingham State College's International Program. He holds an Ed.M. degree from Boston University and an M.F.A. degree from Goddard College. You can reach Dan at activemediaprod@gmail.com

MEDIA PRODUCER / EDITOR / DESIGNER

JEFF HNATIO

Jeff has worked in the media production field for over 15 years and has worked with clients across a wide range of industries to design and develop creative communications strategies and projects. He is an experienced videographer, having worked on a wide variety of projects, including field work as a director of photography, camera operator, lighting director and sound engineer. He is an experienced Final Cut and Premiere editor.

Project experience includes: documentaries, training videos, dramatic pieces, marketing videos, podcasts, web and cable broadcast, live event video streaming, and more. He holds both B.S. and M.S. degrees from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst.

SUSAN WILLARD

Susan Willard has spent 32-years working for or with Fortune 500 digital and high-technology market leaders and start-up technology companies delivering digital imaging programs, products and service solutions to businesses, consumers, and government agencies around the globe.

Today, she brings this proven business experience to clients seeking effective and efficient project and program management service offerings; as well as marketing and marketing services expertise - keeping a mix of “Best Practices,” and the client’s budget considerations top-of-mind.
